But... well... sometimes it's just nice to be utterly and completely unabashedly girlie, and wear something because it's beautiful and delicate, not because it looks like it came from Alexander Wang's line.
Enter: ButtercupLtd jewelry. Gorgeous bracelets and necklaces made of crystal, glass, fiber, and wire.
It looks like something Princess Buttercup would wear (and who didn't want to be Buttercup when they we're 5?... Okay 15. 25...). The blues and greens remind me of appropriate attire for ethereal mermaids.
But these glimmery pieces don't just belong on the necks and wrists of fictional characters who wear brocade or fish scales. In fact, I think you could keep the ripped-up cutoffs and big white tees. Slip one of these bracelets or necklaces on top and you have the best of both worlds. Sweet and salty... just the way we like our style.
These gorgeous jewels are available at this Esty site. Let us know if you get anything (there's a limited amount and we're already fighting over the fuzzy bracelet)!

"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous pieces, but Ive never heard of Princess Buttercup?! I feel I have missed out on something in my youth there!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Good luck with any buys. :)
ReplyDeleteI love these. And that's unusual for me, because I'm not really a fan of beads. I think it's the sheer numbers that appeal.
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous. There's nothing like shopping cat fight. I'm on a ban again so you girls go for it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your thoughtful comments! :)
ReplyDeleteThat jewelry is simply gorgeous! I must go check out the site.

I am also partial to the rock chick look, but I have also made jewelry similar to the examples you've shown here. You would be surprised at how easy it is to make jewelry like this if you know a few basic crochet stitches. It takes a little practice to crochet with beads and wire, but its very easy with a little practice. If I lived closer, I would be happy to teach you how to do this.
ReplyDeleteyou are too kind! i really appreciated your comment.
ReplyDeletei really wish i get the job.- hope you have a great weekEND
ahh, yes! now i'm glad i saved my jade bracelet from last year
ReplyDeletehi girls! love the jewels :)
ReplyDeletelast one is actually pretty stunning...I think I have a thing for pearls...I just never wear them...must be because my mother drilled it into my head that young ladies DONT wear pearls (who knows why!)....
ReplyDeleteThis is totally off-topic, but I was wondering what suburb of Maryland you are from. I grew up in Bethesda before landing in Decatur.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. Sometimes I'm all over the grungy boy look and other times I just wanna look pretty.
