Pocket/Necklace Change

So I got this beauty last week from my oh-so-awesome boyfriend. A necklace that holds quarters: practicality and beauty rolled into one- I love it! It comes from a delightful online shop called Snoozer Looser, often highlighted on the wonderful blog, Getting Beat Like You Stole Something.

I had eyed it a few weeks before and left subtle hints for my boyfriend. It went something like "{cough, cough} I want this for my birthday." Sometimes the magic works.

I apologize for the excessive posing above. I also got/bought myself a remote clicker thingy for my camera, as any serious amateur, amateur photographer should have. So I took about 50 photos of myself with the clicker and now feel like I could successfully give any narcissist a run for their money.

You would think as a twin (living with her twin), I wouldn't need a remote shutter release. Unfortunately Cath and I hardly see each other during the week because of our separate schedules (boo) and separate boyfriends (good!). It's a good thing my face resembles hers or I would forget what she looked like.

  3. Pretty brilliant.

I had a similar schedule with my fiancé Nate when I attended night classes at Uni. I'd only see him around 10 when I got home. We'd eat a late dinner, and he would go back to designing in the office and I would go to bed. But we always found ways to connect during the day.

    Thankfully you have a twin.

    Great outfit. Very funky-fresh.

  5. I see a national show in the future for you guys. I mean, we're all learning so much about twins by reading this blog! And fashion, and Decatur, and....shouldn't we share this with the nation?!

Your poses always put a smile on my face. Enjoy your week!

  6. Oh lord! Thanks for mentioning the remote clicker! BRILLIANT! I am totally investing in one, if I can. Also, your new necklace is the bomb. Say goodbye to not being able to feed the meter.

  12. Gorgeous necklace! I love vintage inspired pieces - I tend to see a lot of the pendant = watch ones, but I"ve never seen one that holds quarters. How cool is that.

Oh, and a belated happy birthday to you both! :) Hope you girls had a great time celebrating!

  15. That necklace is great, and the quarter-holding function is very creative!

Also, I agree with you about the camera remote--it's 1000 times better than awkwardly waiting 10 seconds for the auto timer, and is infinitely better than trying to take your own photo while holding the camera.

  22. "It's a good thing my face resembles hers or I would forget what she looked like." LOL on that one. The necklace is lovely! I drop hints to my oh so receptive bf all the time, but he doesn't get them. Next time, I'll just have him reimburse me.

    haha

  23. Ooh, my grandmother had a necklace like that, but for dimes. Very cool! I could definitely use a remote--10 second self-timer is such a pain.

  30. Oh that necklace is so fun! I haven't ever seen anything like it.

And I think you're onto something... Maybe I should have invested in a remote shutter release. Haha setting the self timer and running seven feet away isn't exactly conducive to amazing photos for me.
