The June Shin Ring

I lifted my self-imposed, temporary (i-haven't-bought-anything-since-sunday, yes-i-have-a-problem!) shopping ban because I completely fell in love with this ring by local jeweler extraordinaire June Shin. You guys must, must, must visit her etsy site before everything is snatched up. I will no longer be sucked in by Tarjay's tawdry, cheap baubles. I will only shop etsy – at least that's how I appeased the consumer guilt when I clicked "Buy Guns & Roses Ring." Oh, and did I mention how much I'm in looooove with it?

I've had a thing for cameo since I was 10, but I've never known how to incorporate it into an outfit without looking too Edwardian or Goth. But give me cameo + classic rock and I can envision about 16 new outfits!
Now, dear readers, go forth and shop local/independents. It's practically guilt free!

ps- Let me know if you guys get anything from June or other etsy sellers!

Oh my gosh! I am in love with this ring, it is pink, my fave colour and it has a skull on it, my favourite design! Wonderful ring :D

That's so cute! Very quirky and eclectic. I like that this ring isn't the typical Tiffany's (though I do love my little blue box spoils). ;)

I loce cameo.. but I think this ring looks a bit scary. for me. It can be really cool in an outfit, but just wouldn't suit me..

what's so wonderful about this piece is the detail. I love the pair of pistols in the background. things like that make the difference between good and great.

On track, my thoughts exactly!

Sharon, yippeee- we're link buddies!

Romany, I love the eclecticism too, but like you would take a tiffany's box as well ;)

Ava, I can totally understand being intimidated by this ring.. . it's big and loud- that's why I love it!

Thanks, Coco!

Angie, I totally agree. I'm usually attracted to gun and skull iconography, but not the real things- so the detailing is perfect.

June, that's terrific! I saw that the Ganesh ring is gone too- and I looove that one as well!

August, that's what I thought too! Goth tempered by a bit of frill and pink!

i love how unexpected this is that will surely cause people to take a second look to see that it's really a skull! very cool, and i might add, completely worth going off of your no-shopping kick.

The Ganesha ring sold soon after you bought yours. I think you may have started a trend!

I've loved cameos since I was 9, so you're totally beat! :)

Seriously, that ring is great. I just looked on her site and I'm partial to the tulip one myself. I haven't gotten myself any "fun" jewelery in awhile...

Love the ring! Funny, I just recently got something from Etsy. And it came so wonderfully packaged! There's something so great about things that are handmade - so much care goes into it, all the way to the packaging!

That's really cute. Wait till you see the kick-ass skull ring I'm working on. Hopefully it will be done next week.
