Bringing the Slap Bracelet Back!

Mistake? Oooo I don't think so! I found these purdies at Clothing Warehouse in Little Five (the same Mecca-of-the-high-waisted-shorts). I love how they make me feel 6 years old again (I had a massive collection at the time). The brilliance of these updated slap-bracelets is that they aren't quite as brutal as their vintage ancestors; much lighter and just a slap on the wrist... rather than that wince-inducing recoil.
What do you guys think? I am very gullible when it comes to nostalgic purchases so I don't know if I'm viewing this "trend" in enough of an unbiased light (like how I'm calling it a trend already?). Well, I have Urban to back me up.

  1. Good choice, snap bracelets are amazing. I had a leopard print one and a rainbow one when I was in first grade and I wore them everyday.

I remember how hard the slap used to be, it was wince-worthy. Anyway, I think it was a good idea to get them, especially if it's something you really like. And they look great too!

  4. What's next, Pogs!?!

Lauren, I think this is a legitimate and awesome come-back. I don't think slap bracelets will ever be too far from the hearts of those that grew up in the late 80s/early 90s. Take it from this fashion visionary--slap bracelets are no temporary fad, my friend.

Please, keep up the good work.

I'm glad you said that the old ones made you wince too, I was afraid I was just being a baby. :P

  6. MM, a leopard-print one? Oooo I'm jealous!

Ragamala, I've been woefully impatient with UO... so i must have missed them the last time I was there.

Juliam, thanks for the tag... stay tuned ;)

Lain, I'm going to bedazzle my jean jacket in Pogs! You're brilliant! And I trust you, fellow catwalker (almost-ish).

Stephanie, they would have made Rambo wince... seriously.
