Lovely Lucy

I ended my subscription to Bazaar two years ago because I found it a little too conservative for my taste. It seems like every issue has the same photo shoot with conservative, beige, designer suits. I picked up the latest issue at the airport this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised to find this great Olympic-themed spread with Lucy Liu. It's all a bit fantastical and silly, but that's what makes it so great.

    This is delightfully entertaining. I can't tell if it's supposed to be tongue in cheek or not! Every time I think I've got it, I stare at it for another second and I have no idea. Damn you, enigmatic Lucy Liu!

    Love the cracking laughter of Lucy (hope she was making a cracking sound??).. so refreshing. She could be a typical Asian beauty (I think I can be forgiven for saying that as I am Asian.. ) but yet she isn't really. Even the freckles on her face make her very special. Ta for sharing these. Pictures are simply delightful.

    No one can resist Lucy in a boxing ring. She's great. I love how no matter what role she is playing she always seems so alive! She glows! I've been watching the bbc Robin Hood (hilarious!!!!!) and the picture of lucy with the bow cracks me up. Y'all should tune in, there are leather jump suits and lyrca!!!!

    I LOVE LUCY!

    The archery shot is awesome... that dress is soooo amazing. I love the fencing one, too.

    You thought BAZAAR was conservative?! I think the exact opposite, haha! I know it's not a big deal, but in the last issue they used the word "fuck." To me that seems like a little less than consevative because I didn't expect to read an article and then blah balh FUCK blah blah... huh?! It through me off guard.

    I do love Lucy Liu. She's so perty. My best friend and I were in 5th grade and she never knew who her mother was because she abandoned her as a baby and we would joke and say, "what if Lucy's your momma?"

    I love Lucy Liu! One time I saw her and her boyfriend at a shabu-shabu restuarant in west L.A.
    I really like the theme, it's a bit silly but perfect for an August issue, since the Olympics are starting.
