Having a Bit of Fun Part 2

Every month I always look forward to reading the newest issue of Vogue - the gorgeous fashion, the smell of glossy printed paper mixed with perfume samples, viewing fashion through Andre Leon Talley eyes, reading about Plum Sykes' oh-so-perfect life...

But sometimes it's just fun to take the piss out of America's number one fashion mag. So here's another installment of Having a Bit of Fun:

If only the Joads could have owned clothing like this they wouldn't have had to worry about their crops - and Steinbeck would have written a very different book.

Drew Barrymore and Amber Valletta reveal their secret to staying so thin.

Blackglama Furs has an unusual definition of "legend."

An issue of American Vogue isn't complete without an image of a model in a quirky pose with a distant gaze.

This fur fashion spread in the October Vogue made me continue to question the appeal of wearing real fur.

  1. That Great Depression look is hot. I guess at the rate we're going, many of us will be looking like the Joads Version 2.0 soon enough.

  3. Nice, you guys crack me up. I keep thinking of the 3 Billygoats Gruff when I look at that last picture.

It's kind of interesting to see Vogue pushing Depression-era clothes, considering what the economy is going through. They even made them black and white.

I hope you keep doing this feature!

  5. It's not your dream to look like a mountain goat for only a few thousand dollars and the lives of a dozen cute animals?

    For shame, Catherine, for shame.

  11. Devin, you're so right! What do you think the Joads 2.0 will turn to for money? ;)

Hi Franco, I'm glad my lovely fellow Atlanta blogger appreciates my sarcasm.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it Cammila!

Muriel, it totally looks like the Billy Goats Gruff - I can't believe I didn't even see that. I'll definitely do more posts like this.

Sharon, I saved the best for last. That fashion fur spread was just too bizarre not to use.

Andrew, I know, I know, I am ashamed. Next time I make $3000 (and hell freezes over) I'll fulfill my dream and buy real fur.

Ryder and Ambika, I'll do my best to do this at least once a month. Vogue usually inspires me enough to make fun of it!

Sal, I'm so chuffed that it made your day!

    Thanks Issa, you're the best!

Molly, you're so sweet to say so.

This Wheel, I was so confused by the fur spread, because it seem so cliche and odd...

Alya, I'll definitely try to do post like this more often!
