Piano Shawl

"Piano Shawl" sounds a bit dowdy or kitschy, but I was determined to make this all-black version work. I found this about a year ago at a local thrift store that carries mainly home goods (any other Decatur Estates fans?), and was actually attracted to its kitschy potential and ability to look just tacky enough on a baby grand. I'm tooting my own horn here, but I think I wear it better than Steinway.

Tank from DressCodes, Skirt from AA, Sandals from trip to Florence (Cinti) 4 years ago (when gladiators were considered ugly).

  1. you are far more fabulous than some old piano. i think the all black makes it much more dramatic, which is the only way to wear a shall.

  11. Great throw on! You should tie it in the front and wear it over a random fitted graphic t-shirt or tank!

  16. Enjoy your dandelions! And I will definitely have to make a trip down south. I've never been to Atlanta, I assume there are great bars and restaurants? Maybe my man and I can swing a business trip! My one request, mint juleps.

  23. i've been digging on the piano shawls for a couple of years now. i have a peach one, but the black always looks so much classier. what do you do with the big "tail" hanging in the back though? i mean the part you must knot up to wear the shawl this way? maybe your shawl is shorter than mine, but i always seem to have an excess after the knotting that i never know what to do with. i'm really looking for an answer/some advice here, laur!
