Halloween: The Painter and The Singer

Catherine and I are immensely proud of our Halloween costumes. They aren't particularly original, but neither one of us stepped foot inside a Party City or costume retail store to purchase any bit of our costumes; everything came straight from our closets. Now what does it say when we can recreate Frida Kahlo and Amy Winehouse style without swiping a credit card? 1) We never get rid of anything 2) we have large closets and 3)we'll try any fashion style. Latex leggings? Check. Boho skirts? Check. The Gaucho? (cringe) Check.
Here are the results:
Cath as Frida Kahlo

Flowers: tissue (by Lar), stolen ballet prop, H&M
Shawl/Pashmina: streets of Italy
Necklaces: secondhand and River Island
Turquoise tunic: Forever 21
Skirt: small boutique in Birmingham, AL
Ring: Agnes Scott College

Lar as Amy Winehouse

Hair: Mine (plus a rolled up plastic Kroger bag)
Tank: AA
Pants: Zara
(Elderly) Tattoos: Heliotrope
Cigarette: candy
Beer: PBR
Ring: Agnes Scott College

You guys look fantastic! And I agree that being able to get a costume together without buying anything new is the coolest.

Thanks everyone! Too bad we don't have more of an excuse to dress up during the rest of the year ;)

It's so fun to see people dress up for Halloween. We don't really celebrate it here.

You guys look awesome!
