That's right. H&M is officially opening in Atlanta tomorrow, Friday, June 13 at noon.
The first 300 in line will get a free H&M t-shirt and a gift card valued anywhere between $10 and $300. For more information about the grand opening, visit the Atlantic Station website here.
I'd love to make a day of it and hang out in line with all the eager shoppers early tomorrow morning, but I'll be at work - damn! I did toy with the idea of using one of my vacation days to take off for the opening, but a free t-shirt and gift card aren't much incentive - especially when it means dealing with the crowds.
Lauren and I will make it over to H&M sometime soon and give you all the lowdown (i.e. is it as good as the downtown H&Ms in Philly & D.C. or watered down for preppy southern tastes?). Stay tuned...
Blogger edit: Elizabeth Westby of Atlanta Magazine's About Town blog did a great post on the Atlantic Station H&M preview party.

Yeah the free tshirt and gift card isn't worth it.
Oh, you know I'll be heading over there and comparing it to the NYC ones. I hope it doesn't disappoint like Zara has for me. But I'll wait 'til the hype dies down a bit. I can't deal with crowds.
Oh for real? I might have to drop by. I have time to be by that way. It'll be the first time I'm there so yeah.
Wow, it almost feels like you should be throwing a shower or something. Seriously, congratulations. It's like a new era.
you will be addicted, it is so god but evil!
you will find your self making constant trips there! have fun :)
Hope you find goodies you really like when you do go!!
Hey ladies-- check out my blog post on the Atl. Station H&M here: http://www.atlantamagazine.com/blogs/blog_post.aspx?id=23702&blogid=252
According to the store rep, offerings are the same everywhere in the world, so we can look forward to just as funky of fashions as any other city!
Apparently that url was too long? Maybe try this:

Damn I was hoping for watered down. Right now all I have are cut-off jean shorts, unbuttoned button-down sleeveless denim shirts that I usually tie in a knot right beneath my boobs, straw hats and commemorative belt buckles. The whole-hog transition might upset my brotherhusband! Guess I won't make it, I'll be staying home in my trailer. *sigh
Wendy, I know! I want a party! :)
June, I don't know if I have the heart to compare it to the NYC ones. But at least we finally have a H&M. Let me know what you think about it!
Aziza, I'd follow June's lead and wait a few weeks for the crowds to decrease a little :).
Cammila, you're so right! I still can't believe the south finally has H&M! Hurrah!
Knight Cat, the scary thing is I'm already addicted. Every time I travel to a city with an H&M, i go shopping. My credit cards get worn out!
Sharon Rose, I'm sure I will!
Elizabeth, great coverage on the event! I really hope the offerings are the same as NYC!
Christian, you are too funny! I'm sure there will be some watered down stuff ;).
