Election Day Outfits

Nope, our outfits don't have any patriotic meaning (if that was the case, we'd be wearing blue head to toe), but this is what we were wearing Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008.

Georgia might not have swung all the way in the direction I hoped for, but it was a lot closer than four years ago. Obama received 46.8% of Georgia's votes, which is not bad for a usually deep red state.

You can't tell very well in these photos, but Lauren is sporting acid-wash red jeans. When she tried them on the other week at American Apparel I told her I loved the fit, but that she should find another wash. Wisely, she did not listen to me and since then, has had a ridiculous amount of people say how much they love the jeans. Just goes to show that I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about...

I'm trying to smile in this photo, but Lauren took this before the polls closed and I was incredibly anxious about the outcome. Just trust me when I write that I was smiling like crazy four and a half hours later!

Lauren-Love the jeans! Alas, I'm not bold enough to wear "colored" denim. Maybe one day...

Catherine-I need that sweater! :)

I'm still super excited about last night's results. I know how you feel about the whole state thing. I was so glad to see Florida finally turn blue.

Great election day outfits! When I moved down here, I couldn't believe that I was actually living in a red state, but I guess we're more pink now. Maybe even purple. ;)

It's so nice to see all the fashion blogger support for Obama!

Sounds like Lar's acid wash red jeans are a hit!

Annie, you're right. The Obamas wore read during the acceptance speech - so we'd fit right in at Grant Park that night!
