Lace It Up

Feed bag: Whole Foods, tank and vest: AA, pants: H&M, boots: Target, body chain: DIY

After a brief dalliance with color last week, I returned to black and white. Wouldn't you be persuaded back to black with laces and grommets? I know these pants are a little 80s in the wrong way (especially if I wear it with an over-sized fringe leather jacket with turquoise decals), but they feel so good: like mini, gentle corsets for your legs. Well, that sounds a little medieval, but think more Spanx than iron cage.

As for the Feed bag, I totally encourage you guys to pick one up at Whole Foods (you can also get them online here). I usually don't shop there. If I'm in a Whole Pay Check, I usually stare wide-eyed at the people who fill entire shopping baskets full of their weekly groceries while I sidle by with my $5 bar of organic/free trade chocolate. But even if you don't buy food at Whole Foods, buy this tote. It's a steep $25, but it pays for 100 (one hundred!) school lunches for kids in Africa. (Specifically it goes to the World Food Programme’s Rwanda School Feeding operation). Whole Foods doesn't profit, just you and 100 kids. A pretty good bargain, huh?

The bodychain and the pants are so badass!! I've been looking for a pair of lace-up pants for forever... Ahhh!

I may donate, since Wholefoods seems pretty reliable, but last time I did, my number got sold and I received a whole lot more telemarketers than before. Grrrr.

Ooh it's nice to see you rocking the DIY body chain! The feed bag is a really neat idea too...I think there might be a Whole Foods in Vancouver somewhere; if there is, I wonder if they have this initiative there?

They're just fanciful enough. It's all in the way you wear them -- and you totally do NOT look like a Ren Faire reject! ;)

...haha, "corsets for your legs." Love it.

I love that bag & Whole Foods. It's a little pricey to buy everything there, but definately worth it!

I spot the DIY body chain! This is almost S&M, LL! Hahaha.

Your idea of an international blogger meet up sounds terrific. If only we all had pots of cash and plenty of free time available to us. SOB!

I'd say those are 80s in the RIGHT way, lady. And thanks for the tip on the tote ... we don't live near a Whole Foods, but that sounds like it'd be worth driving a bit.

I think the ocean-faring saying goes "water water, everywhere, but not a drop to drink". Also, I don't think women are really throwing themselves at a guy who blogs on a fashion blog haha

The pants are definitely badass! And I almost bought those boots online yesterday! What's the fit like?! :-)

You look *amazing* in those pants.

& agreed on the crazy prices at Whole Paycheck. I sometimes get their hot deli food but I don't grocery shop there--Trader Joe's is where it's at!

Haha, "gentle corsets for your legs"... I think they are just the right amount of 80's in the exact right way! Is it weird that your outfit also reminds me of a hot girl version of Zorro?

Those be some pretty saucy poses, but then you are trying to sell something...albeit a charitable something.

The pants are amazing!!
The fact that all $25 are donated to charity is so fantastic, too often shops claim to be being generous when really only a tiny percentage of profit is going to the cause, so thats great!

Ugh, I went to H&M two weekends ago and it was MOBBED because of Cirque du Soleil. I did some pretty bitchy driving (cutting people off, driving down the bus lane, that sort) only to discover that they didn't have that cut out dress I've been seeing everywhere. Did you happen to spot it on your trip there? Those pants look great on you, btw!!

Haha I feel you on the single chocolate bar purchase at Whole Foods.
