Farmer Fashion

I stopped by Agnes Scott last Friday during the Georgia Organics conference to help out at the welcome table. Since I was coming from work I was wearing a fitted dress, pumps and a blazer - a perfectly respectable outfit for the office, but soooo out of place at an organics conference. Most attendees were wearing some combination of cargos, denim, dreadlocks, birkenstocks, shirts made out of flax or bamboo and some kind of reusable tote.

I'm a big supporter of the whole the farm-to-table, organic, living green movement (who isn't?!), but I rarely associate it with the stylish types...that is until I saw this guy:

georgiafarmer

His outfit is so organics-conference-perfect that I nearly fell out of my chair when he walked into the building. Instead, I played it totally cool by stealthily running after him and pretending to take a photo of the tents outside so I could document his outfit on this blog. The shorts aren't too short, the shirt is perfectly broken in, he manages to rock those mules (usually a strictly European male accomplishment) and how great is that little red feather in his fedora? Even the hipster beard is great. Who's with me?

Mmmm, I saw the trilby at UO. If he got there, he gets minus 20 cool points.

Oh gosh... this brings back memories of college! There were quite a few guys who dressed like this on my campus. And a few girls who dressed like that girl in the North Face jacket, as well.

Ahhh Furman. How I love/loathe thee.

Those are some mean cut-offs. Not sure the dun colour is the best against his complexion but then I think he may be too busy saving the world to care about such matters.

I'm with you. I like to see a man wear actual shorts (though, I do think these are verging on a teeny bit too short). I HATE "shorts" on guys that fall between the knee and calf. They just make most of them look stumpy.
P.S. Nice stealth camera work!

Wow, this guy really makes me wonder! I mean, do you think he's just dressing for his lifestyle, or do you think he was trying specifically to achieve this look? It's a fascinating thing to ponder!:)

I think someone should ask when taking someone else's picture, especially to publish. Would you want that done to you?

I don't know if I can help harvest the farmer fashion movement, but I can certainly appreciate from afar. Hot farmer, 12 o'clock.

Oh sorry...It was supposed to be fashion comments.

( throat clearing)

I don't think his shorts are too short as his thighs are nice and not too skinny. Color is a little blah...forest green/olive khaki would have rocked it. Hat is sublime. I have hat/cap envy as for some reason I look tres ridiculous in all of them.

Wonder if he works at AGNES? Oops, off topic again.
