As luck would have it, there is a Steve and Barry's in Asheville. I mentioned in a previous post that Sarah Jessica Parker's Bitten line is sold exclusively at Steve and Barry's - a store that I'd never heard of before. Yesterday morning, Lauren and I found our way over to the Asheville suburbs and had a bit of fun checking out Bitten. I know it's bad that we were hanging out at a mall when we are visiting such a great city, but it's all in the name of research!
To be honest, we weren't expecting much. I mentioned in the previous post that the line looks like it came from Gap - a far cry from Carrie Bradshaw's closet, but the clothing actually looks better in person. While Bitten is not anywhere near cutting edge fashion, there is something to be said for pricing everything for $20 or under. Places like TopShop and H&M are known for their low prices, but they're not really low (especially when you're paying $100+ for a dress). The majority of the clothing in SJP's Bitten line is under $10 and there's an endless amount of printed tees, jersey dresses, denim jackets, ballet flats, cuffed shorts, little black dresses, underwear, robes, jewelry, linen jackets and headbands, just to name a few. Well done Sarah Jessica, well done.

there are a couple of steve and barry's up here, so i have to check this out! i didn't know the stuff was so cheap. i'll let you guys know if i find anything good!
Yeah, do tell. Another great thing about the line is that unlike H&M and Target, Steve and Barry's has two HUGE sections of Bitten, not just 2 or 3 racks of guest designer clothes. Have fun!
ok, so, it was totally worth the trip! the best deal for my money was the trouser pants. they fit really well and are made of a really nice material - i'd never guess they only cost $15 dollars! what i loved about the line was that it includes stuff for every part of a woman's life - even bathing suits and sleepwear! and, like you say, there's just SO MUCH of it. thanks for recommending it. needless to say, i'll probably cave and go back for more sometime soon.
