Wine for Work

Regular readers know that Catherine works in a more conservative setting than I. And even though I know she hates to shop for "boring" work clothes, I know most of us have to follow some sort of dress code at our pays-the-bills/nine-to-five. So these work outfits aren't the most ground-breaking in the fashion department, but they are elegant and practical, non?

Having a slew of dresses that you can just throw on and walk out the door looking smashing is a great way to make the alarm beeping at 7am a lot more pain-free. This wine-colored dress is actually something I picked up at a little boutique in Kentucky a couple of years ago. Cath paired it with black tights and platforms for a little twist.

I also really like Cath's understated jewelry. The necklace is thrifted, and the gold ring is from Bitten. My favorite is Cath's new Frank Gehry for Tiffany's ring (it's the silver one). I like the idea of architecture for your finger. Bilbao, eat your heart out.

Beautiful dress and rings! I really like your hair too.

Also, I just want to remind you that the Rachel Leigh belt contest ends in 10 days if you're still interested in entering. I hope you will!

Take care and enjoy the rest of your day dear :)

Cath looks fantastic here! And hey, when you're not a morning person and fighting not to press snooze repeatedly, sometimes looking presentable to the world is quite a feat, let alone breaking new fashion ground or being innovative. At least I find that's the case with me. :P

I used to work at a bank, so I know all about "dressing up formal" for a 9-5, pay-the bills job. Hehe....Most of the time I actually didn't mind it, because how often do we get a chance to dress up formally anayways? So I guess it's a fun experience!
I'm loving the dress and it looks like I have the same shoes as you Cath! hehe

Cath looks stunning. And I agree with all the points you wrote about work clothes. I blog my work clothes. I don't think anyone notices 'cos I'm a government lawyer and the public service in general is very very badly dressed. No one much cares! I love the belt detail.

Working in a super conservative setting must suck (one of the reasons keeping me from applying to law school), for now, I'm glad I study chemistry =P. The only rules in a lab are the safety ones.
The colour of the dress is really pretty though, I've been weak for blackened reds lately.
