Shoulder Pads
Blazer thrifted, tee and sunnies Urban Outfitters, leggings Rockit, boots DIY Tarjay
You've seen this blazer before. It is perfect for this crazy windy weather (since when did Atlanta turn into Chicago?). And I honestly think the return of the shoulder pad is a good thing. I'm wearing the real deal (80s/90s blazer) and not the chic and regal sci-fi pieces coming off the runway (Balmain anyone?), but I can see why the shoulder pad was part of the infamous power suit. Like stomping down the street in a mean pair of heels, I feel I can shoulder my way through a crowd with ease. Seriously, you guys should try it. What do you think? Yea or nay to the return?

i love the printed tee and red sunnies, my dear!
I'm going to say yea. They look pretty bad ass styled like that. Although I dare you to go all designing women on it...
To be honest, your fierce, get-out-of-my-way, hand on hip glare totally distracted me from inspecting your shoulders! I think you make it work completely with all that attitude.
agree, very fierce.
ps i really like the maxi dress from 2 posts ago....
cute tee! those are my favorite @uo.
i'm not sure if i'm ready for a full on shoulder pad revival for the masses, but you are working it! I love the tee you paired it with, such a nice neutral color, it ties together the rest of your outfit perfectly.

Hi there-You look totally fabulous, a big yay from me (and you know where you can send the blazer when you get fed up with it, LOL!)
hahaha shoulder your way through a crowd seems like a pretty fitting description for this type of jacket!
I'm yea for this trend but only when done tastefully like Balmain did.
I want your blazer!!
Oh, I am no fan of shoulder pads, I must admit. But this blazer goes along very well with the rest of your outfit. Compliments for your blog!

I dig it!
structured shoulders are fab. i love it.
that blazer is too perfect!!
heart ur blazer!<3
YAY on the shoulder pad return! And it's all based on your sentiment on stomping through life and shouldering your way through crowds... a small gal like me feels badass and poweful with a little extra something in the shoulder department-- makes my posture better and makes me (at least in my own mind) look more like an adult/a force to be reckoned with!
I have this Helmut Lang dress with built in shoulder pads that I haven't busted out yet in the public eye. Might be inspired to do something to update them a little, and rock them shoulder pads, too!
LOVE this on you!
Definitely Yay to the return!! Love the feeling of having broad shoulders, so powerful! xxoxoxo
This decade doesn't deserve you.
love it! Everything about it works and I really like the boots with the chains, did you diy, or find them that way?
great outfit. love the red elements.
Love your blazer!! I need a white one like that for myself!

I LOVED this jacket last time you posted about it...I don't remember if I commented. I actually wear a school boy blazer with shoulder pads and know what you mean about pairing them with boots and heels and stomping about. Ahhh if only our family could've worn heels and not so glittery power suits and all been on Dynasty. Can you imagine our mothers on Dynasty? The scary thing is I totally can. You're mom would be AMAZING. Anyway...I also really love that this jacket is white. I don't see a lot of white blazers and I think its a great color if you're going to be wearing an imposing silhouette with shoulder pads. Haha. (still imagining our family in Dynasty)
I absolutely LOVE this outfit. I love the tights with the boots and v-neck and blazer, it's fabulous!
