Work Outfit, meet Zorro

The Zorro mask is leftover from our photo shoot on Sunday. I used the mask here to cover the fact that my eye make-up had slid off my face throughout the course of the workday.

I've worn this faux Yves Saint Laurent/Mondrian dress before, but added the Asos belt I won from Wanderlusting a few weeks ago. Without a belt, sheath dresses can make me look a little too young because they tend to swallow up my frame- especially with strong lines and shapes like this one.

Cath used the Zorro mask as a fascinator. I think she looks tres chic. She's got you beat, Antonio.

While picking up some lovely things at Jac this weekend, Cath swiped these Frye platforms for 40% off. Is it weird to any one else that Frye makes things other than boots? Don't get me wrong, I have a pair of Frye platforms too, and they are dreamy. It's just weird. To me Frye's are distant relatives to the things cowboys or pioneers used to wear. I can't imagine cow herders in platforms- kind of like imagining the New York Dolls working on a ranch. Inspiration for the next photoshoot? Yee haw!

Lar, love the mod feel and the belt definitely adds nice structure. I've got hips like I pencil so belts are my BFs :)
Cath, love the drapey top! And fab platforms, Frye really??? Love how they made the buckle strap brown.
You guys both have Antonio beat...and def have better hair!
Thanks on the hair comment, I think you could both totally rock short dos! And GGs comfort food for sure!

Masks should be acceptable for everyday attire... *sigh*

I was weirded out when I first saw Frye non-boots ... but dang, they make some great non-boots. Including Cath's smokin' platforms!

VERY GRAPHIC DESIGNERY! :P

I love both outfits, but the Frye's do not appeal to me... I still have issues with shoes that cover the whole foot... I like seeing openness on heels for some reason. They do look great on Cath, though.

IRYC (in response to your comment on Thereafterish, I hear ya on stomach issues... While you don't have an Autoimmune disease, stomach issues can wreck havoc on our delicate Asian systems, non? Do you have the tradish lactose intollerance as well? I have that in addition to a severe addiction to cheese AND the lupus.

It's a rough world. Thank God I'm a vegetarian, though. Who knows how bad it would be otherwise?

I heart that dress. I heart it so much.

Also, you look like some kind of sexy, mod bandit. Like you're going to bust into town with a gun that shoots metallic bubbles and rob a photo booth or an ice cream parlor or something. You know, as art.

I love the Mondrian dress! I think the way you've belted it to suit your figure is just pitch perfect, plus the belt integrates very well with the overall pattern of the dress.

Love the zorro mask and bold print of your YSL dress- looks like the print of a dress that I had my eye on but can't remember the label. Fab!

Love the Mondrian dress! I was coveting one of these (couldn't exactly afford the YSL), but never found a good version. Cath's outfit is terrific as well... I love the contrast of the loose draping with the tight skirt. And a great use of that Zorro mask!

Had no idea Frye made anything other than boots. I think their other shoes aren't even available in Europe. A shame, they're pretty cool!

Love the outfits! I agree about the Fryes. Gilt had a few on sale this past week, and when I clicked on the link, I was expecting boots. :) It's weird to associate Frye with anything else, but they do make some dreamy platforms!
