City Twin
Cath and I are identical twins, but on most days we are absolutely convinced we look nothing a like. She has bangs and wears her hair straight, I let mine go wavy (ie I don't wake up early enough in the morning) and bangs lasted three minutes on me before I decided I had to pin them back. Our noses are different, she has more Chinese, I have more Cajun. Cath also works for our local city government, so her work wear is a bit more grown-up and elegant than mine.
Despite these "notable" differences, people still often confuse us. We really don't mind at all. Our baffled looks are a result of us forgetting we look alike to people.
Because Cath has a more public job than I do, I often have to tell disappointed retailers that "I'm not the City twin" and I have little sway with the upper branches of government. Crestfallen that their grievances were wasted on a powerless twin, I try to assuage them with graphic design babble. It's difficult to distract people with a game of "What's Your Favorite Font?!"
All of this twin blather is to say, I absolutely love Cath's entire look in these photos: the wrap/grecian dress, nude pumps from Eviva, and her dainty jewelry. It's what I want to look like when I grow up.

I want that dress - beautiful pic!
And lately my favorite font at work is veranda :)
That's so interesting that you two are identical, but not really. I see the little bit more Chinese/Cajun respectively.
And heh heh, the favorite font game would TOTALLY distract me!
It's fascinating to hear that you don't think you look alike ... but also makes perfect sense. Perhaps especially since you live together and are so close. You're very separate entities with very distinct styles.
For the record, I think you both look grown-up and elegant ALWAYS. No lie.
Thanks for such a sweet post, Lar!
I agree, this look is amazing, the nude pumps pop somehow even though they are nude. Can I look like that when I grow up too? I work for Town government, so I am somewhere in between you two. :)
I love this look too! Well, I guess I love both your looks ;-)
You guys are like the Sweet Valley High Twins in real life-- rocking your own styles-- but much more stylish, of course :D Love Cath's look and yours as well!
I love this look as well - there are so many ways a more conservative look can get boring. And I think most identical twins have some distinguishing features that tells them apart... I only know one 'pair' and I can tell them apart because of their eyebrows (sounds insane, but it's true.. and they don't overtweeze or anything). But I guess most people don't look that closely ;-)
By the way, I've handed you girls an award on my blog. Check it out if you have time :)
Gorgeous pics & love the dress. & for the record, my favorite font is Garamond.
Haha, that was cute and interesting! And Cath does look extra chic, especially for a city worker (if the women I dealt with on jury duty are anything to go by). And I even confuse you two in internet land because I'm never sure who's writing the comments on my blog, haha. Sometimes I try to decipher by the writing style :~)
City chic indeed. LOVE those shoes, especially.
I am not a designer — but I work at a design agency and love talking fonts. Comic sans makes me want to vomit... and if I see another restaurant or spa use Papyrus, I'm going to scream.

she is beautiful in the look. love the black dress with nude shoes.
C may be the City Twin but L will never be mistaken for the Country Twin.
she looks lovely....I really, really love that dress and those heels!!!!
so pretty! loved your blog.

Such an elegant dress!
Longtime reader here, first time commenter, I totally saw one of you (?) at Trader Joe's last week and almost said hello, but I was overcome with shyness! I first saw the Guatemalan bag, and was like "hmm…, that looks familiar!" Anyways, I'm pretty partial to my slab serifs, Rockwell always works for me in a pinch.
You guys are too cute - her dress is so gorgeous and flattering and I just wanna lick those pumps! Ok that sounded weird, but true!
What an absolutely beautiful dress! Haha and the tricks I would play on people if I had an identical twin..although I suppose they would run out fast, but still!
I love this too! and the background is really effing cool * * *
haha i liked this post. you gals have your own unique style and that's what i like about you two.. i can totally relate to wanting to look a bit more grown up.. but then some days casual and fun is the way to go. Cath looks fab here.
I love reading this post! My sister and I are 7 years apart and we don't look like physically at all and have completely different personalities and style. I love Cath's dress and the nude pumps are so gorgeous! xxoxoxoxo
i am in love with this dress, and those pumps!! i want to look like this when i grow up too :)

I laughed out loud when I read your discussion of who has the more chinese nose. My sister and I have had that (and similar) conversations too! Maybe it's a hapa thing.
ps the hemline on that dress is awesome.
pps. have you checked out saelee oh's stuff? it reminds me of curiosity cabinets http://bit.ly/nfySK
Love Cath's outfit, especially her dainty jewellery.
Definitely interesting to hear about your twin differences. I absolutely love the fact you both have different styles...both brilliant of course! Oh yeah and I would happily discuss fonts/art with you!
Aww. What an adorable post! I love it when you two mix fashion and personal anecdotes in one post. I think it's really nice that you can be sisters (twins, no less)and roomies and still maintain a close friendship.
This super sweet and made me smile. ^_^ You gals are just too cute.
oooh...I need those shoes!
ooooo! i really like the grecian style dress and dainty necklace!
i've been meaning to ask, how big are you girls wardrobe?
i wanna see!
both you girls are fabulous!!! i think it's actually very easy to tell you two apart :D
Maybe its because I read your blog too often, but I can tell the 2 of you apart! You look similar, but different. It's not like I have to tell you apart by searching for a mole or something on your face.
And yeah these photos look so pretty. I like the bottom part of the wrap. Not very common :)
i cant differentiate you two either! for me the only thing that seperates you two is your hair. i think cath's hair length is shorter.
gorgeous
this whole outfit is gorgeous and classy, i adore the dress, and the heels are just the most amazing color.
when both of you are side by side I think i can tell you apart. But the favorite font game would definetly distract me.

You do look gorgeous (as always)! ;-)
Love this twin post! :) I actually thought you ladies are fraternal.. but I think the hair threw me off. Mel and I are fraternal but people still think we look identical, though we also think we look nothing alike! Cath looks lovely here in that dress.
xo, Becs
cath, you look SO CHIC! i love love love how that dress reminds me of an upside-down tulip. :)

gorgeous! i'm a sucker for a grecian inspired dress :)
Your looks both lovely and stunning.
You guys look like a honey, very fascinating and sexy. you are both look glam.
very, very cute. the nude pumps are a nice complement to that dress.
you are totally working the whole LBD+Nude pumps in classy manner here. Love your hair too
