As I mentioned before, this time of year always puts me in a kind of nesting mood. The idea of spending time redecorating becomes much more appealing when I spend more time at home during the winter months.
For the past year I've had every intention of saving up for a headboard. As a result, the wall behind my bed has stayed bare - giving a somewhat cell-like feel to my room. Yesterday I finally came to terms with the fact that saving up for a headboard was not a top priority for me and decided to take action.
I saw these wall decals on ikea.com Sunday night and was driving across town to IKEA early Monday morning.
At first I thought about getting the black decals, but figured the champagne color would compliment the beige walls better. I bought two packs. Each pack comes with four sheets of decals. Each sheet includes one long steam with leaves, three different-sized blossoms and two leafs.
It took some time and patience to figure out a pattern. Ultimately, I used the pattern in the ikea.com image above as a jumping off point and figured it out from there. All in all, it only took me about an hour to put up and I couldn't be happier with the end result.
