Springtime Inspiration: Chinoiserie

If I had all the money in the world I would cover my walls in hand-painted wallpaper by de Gournay. I especially love their Chinoiserie styles:

Seeing as I don't have all the money in the world and am in a rental, de Gournay Chinoiserie paper is out of the question for me. After searching online for a few minutes I found that I could easily get my Chinoiserie fix with some reasonably priced dresses.

Pretty! Reminds me of an Anthropologie catalog.

I love it all. The yellow wallpaper seems a little Bloomsbury to me. Have you thought about using either stencils or free hand painting with white paint on a darker toned wall? Or, buying one of the lovely dresses you found and standing up against the wall when people come over?

I love it. I would only be able to pull it off in my own room. I don't think my fiance would appreciate it. I may have to buy one of those dresses though...

Sally Jane, you're right, it is very Anthropologie-esque.

Jacquelyn Clare, brilliant idea! I like the idea of standing up against the wall to give my apartment the appearance of Chinoiserie.

June Shin, yep Chinoiserie is not guy friendly - I'm not sure if that would stop me ;).

Juliam, I think I first heard of YesStyle from a fellow style blogger. I love finding new places to shop online!

Gorgeous!!! Wallpapers and dresses, but especially the wallpapers. Once again, I'm trying not to whimper.

Wooooooow. Never have I ever found patterned walls so...enticing!

Oh, and Catherine -- in my case "nice-n-hot" means a preheated 400 degree oven. Hott!

Pretty walls! I'd love to have something like that, but I don't think my hubby would ever speak to me again.

I love the Tulle dress. But primarily because it would cover up any hippage. :)

I would too!

Mare, I'm with you on that!

Nate, it's like totally hot! Love your new foodie blog.

Stephanie, sounds like you're in the same boat with June Shin.

Wendy, I didn't think I'd be the only one :) !
