Pinks and Reds for Cheap!

Seeing as we don't have a H&M in Atlanta - or anywhere in the southeast, we southerners have to get creative with finding stylish and cheap clothes. Sure, we could shop at www.topshop.com and www.asos.com (and we do sometimes), but sometimes the high shipping costs are just not worth it (plus, environmentally, all that shipping is no good).

So with no Atlanta H&M and no money for S&H, Lauren did pretty well for herself at North DeKalb Mall this weekend. For those of you not familiar with the Atlanta area, North DeKalb is not your typical preppy, J.Crew/Gap/Banana/Abercrombie, anchored by Neimans kind of mall. Let's just put it this way, Old Navy moved out years ago and now Ross and Macy's are the most high-end shopping areas you'll find there. Lauren stopped by Rainbow and Mix & Match - both are off-brand stores with low-quality, super-trendy items. Her purchases include a crop, puff-sleeve jacket (pictured), blue jersey baby doll dress and a bag full of jewelry. All of that for under $50!

Some more thirfty shopping examples are shown below. Upper left photo: dress from Forever 21. Upper right photo: Ralph Lauren oxford purchased at a RL outlet. Bottom photo: dress from American Apparel, sunglasses from Fred Flare and necklace from Mix & Match.

Technically, we do have H&M in the southeast. Until the ATL location opens this year, though, the eight stores in VA are the closest to us. A bit of a drive, perhaps, but I'm sure it'd be worth it for a fashion emergency... :)

So true! How could I have forgotten the VA H&Ms? I've actually shopped at one of them. Where did you hear of an Atlanta H&M? I'll be the first in line when it opens!

There was a story in the Sunday Paper last October indicating H&M would open a store in Atlantic Station later this year. I hadn't heard anything about it since, so I thought it was a done deal. I'm cautiously optimistic, since some H&Ms don't have a very good men's selection; but hopefully y'all will enjoy it either way!
