Inspiration: Face Hunter

My fondness for street style blogs grows with every additional one I find (see the listing to the right under "Street Style"). Here are two recent looks that I've picked out from Face Hunter and have tried to recreate on the cheap.

I love the different shades of pink in this outfit. For some reason the wedge on her pink oxfords brought to mind the colorful wedge-shaped shoes by Alice + Olivia for Payless. So I recreated this outfit in green - it might make you look like a human-sized green bean, but I bet you'd get snapped by street-style blogger.
Dress: Go Jane
Tights: We Love Colors
Shoes: Payless

I love jersey pencil skirts because they're everything that regular pencil skirts aren't: comfortable, easy to walk in and low maintenance. American Apparel doesn't have an orange pencil skirt, but this cranberry-colored one is a nice alternative. And I can't get enough of Urban Outfitter's Truly Lovely Deeply tees.

Shirt: Urban Outfitters
Skirt: American Apparel
Tights: We Love Color

I just stumbled upon the We Love Color website today when I was looking for green tights. They have tights in every color of the rainbow plus some pretty crazy combinations. It's a great resource to stock up on classic, opaque tights - and much cheaper than American Apparel.

Love these outfits. They're colorful in this straightforward way that I think can often be hard to achieve.

I love colored tights!

I'm not sure about the pink lady, but the second girl rocks.

Have you ever realized that when you buy readymade suits you get a choice of only a few colors & styles, also finding the perfect fit are quite difficult? Wouldn’t it be better to choose from over 2000 different British & Italian fabrics and get a tailor made suit at a similar price that you pay for readymade suits?

We are a company based in Hong Kong and have been providing custom made suits & shirts since 1997. With representatives in major cities around the globe we can arrange to show you the fabric samples and take your measurements, or you can also place your orders online with the help of our measuring guide. There are over 2000 fabrics to choose from along with all the latest styles.

All our suits and shirts are produced by highly skilled Shanghainese tailors in Hong Kong and delivered in about 4 weeks, express delivery can be made in 2 weeks at a minor extra cost. In case you are not able to find what you are looking for then please let us know your requirement may it be in words or by a photograph and we could arrange it for you.

We also have an outlet at the Hotel Intercontinental Budapest where you are most welcome to visit us. Though we are not located in streets like Savile Row (London), we have still been able to offer made to measure suits to many VIP’s from around the world.

dear asiancajuns,

although i love your blog, i must place full blame on you for tonight's minor embarrassment.

my friend had just got back from a folk festival, or whatever, where they were serving food from a local restaurant called "ragin' cajun". i proceeded to ask her, "so how was the food from asian cajun??"

my friends sort of laughed at me but i couldn't explain that i'm nerd enough to read fashion blogs.. not that it's lame, but.. i think you know what i mean.

hahaha. anyway.

I'm not sure if I'm daring enough to wear a head to toe color, but I defintely will toy with the idea...

Bitterbabe, let me know if you get any tights from there!

Ellastica, you're right, that skirt is very Stephen Sprouse-ish!

Lynn, too bad UO doesn't ship to Asia, what gives?

Ambika, I loved putting the outfits together, but I don't know if I'd be brave enough to wear one that's completely green.

Pomegranate, exactly.

Heather, i know! street style blogs are addictive.

Wendy, you and me both! I wear too much black.

Hi Yanny, you got it!

Clare and Samara, and colored shoes! I was some bright magenta (non-hooker) heels.

Hey Kenny Surtani, are you a blog spammer - i sure hope not. Maybe you can convince me by sending me a tailor-made, pink suit.

Ashley, your story completely made my day. I still can't stop laughing. Let's just hope Rajin' Cajun doesn't start up a blog or there's going to be a lot of confused blog readers out there!

linda, I'm right there with ya. That's what blogs are for, right?
