... does not look like this:
To us, cold is 40 degrees. So there is no way we get this much snow, or even ice. If we're lucky we get freezing rain and run out to the nearest Kroger to stock up on bread and milk. Seriously.
Not that I mean to complain. I enjoy our Indian Summers in January, but you can't make snow angels in soggy leaves.
Regardless of local climate, what you can do is dress like a lumber jack! I'm not sure I've ever seen a lumber jack in 3 inch H&M boots, but otherwise spot-on, no?
And what does every self-respecting lumberjack have? You guessed it. A mustache, be it real (swoon) or permanent marker. You can't weld an axe without one.
And what does every self-respecting Cajun (or part-Cajun) girl do when she gets a southern chill? Makes herself a bowl of gumbo. Yum!

Thanks for commenting on my blog.
Loving the plaid shirt!
haha, homage to Billie & Tootie of Reform School? I can't believe they went for the real deal!

You';re making me so hungry! & I want a plaid shirt now!
Croissants are quite possibly the most perfect food in the universe.
40F? Lucky you. It's blizzarding and down to 5F with -5 windchill tonight.
I think the little stache is my favorite part..lol.
You are lucky not to have freezing winters, but it`s a shame you miss out on the winterwonderland feeling!
haha.. 40F is cold here too! and gumbo.... definitely a fave when it's cold :)
Nice moustache :P hehe. I like the plaid
Haha you make an adorable lumberjack! (I feel like this statement comes with extra authority since I'm Canadian.)
-17 below and a foot of snow up in here. We've got room for visitors! Especially mustachioed Cajuns.
The fake-moustachioed faux-jack speaks the truth.
Can you share your gumbo recipe? :)
these pictures are too cute...you pull off the lumberjack look to a tee!
you lucky! I hate hate snoww.
Btw I decided to put your link on my blog!
oh god it's so hot here right now too! crazycrazycrazy
p.s. love the stache on you ;)
Great boots! I personally love the lumber jack look. Up here though it's more function than fashion
Can I just say I love the tags for this post? I think the finger 'stache is hilarious and I am partial to the lumberjack look myself.
Tell me about the gumbo! What's in it? How did it turn out? ... looks less "red" than other gumbos I've seen - tho I'm no expert... You're making me salivate for southern cooking!
Brilliant post. Are you getting that 'stache tatooed on? I hear it's quite popular right now... :)
No lumberjack's quite so cute too! ;)
Hi there-you are soo cute and the gumbo looks delicious!
I love your shirt, lemme guess: H&M?
And I wish it would be 40F over here - I'd be rocking all of my summer dresses and sandals, lol

Good inspiration for coping with the Atlanta winters, something I definitely need. I also wrote on the topic of 40 degree "coldness" in the ATL, maybe because I'm not so good at coping with it myself! http://zombielace.blogspot.com/2009/01/resurrecting-outfits_14.html
Can I visit you guys while we have a cold spell this weekend?
thanks<3
I completely agree with you- on the plaid and watching SATC overandoverandover again for inspiration!
the cute mustache picture made me smile out loud! =]
xx
lumber jack all the way! I just bought a black and white lumber jack shirt. although black and white is not as lumber jackish as red and black. i love your permanent marker stash, does that mean you'll be axe-ing with one hand while the other is moustached to your face?!
Domo arigato for your super sweet comment! I can't believe I was able to find those items for that cheap either because Tokyo is usually NOT cheap! I guess I gotta say I know where to find good deals!
Love the superimposed snow you got going there! =)
what a cute idea! I always thought gumbo was soup... :)
lol. i dig the moustache. and the gumbo looks delish!
love the plaid!
what's a gumbo? it looks delicious!
Mais cher, that gumbo looks so good!
Kind of Jealous. It's like 15 degrees up north.
That's very yum indeed.
I do wish I was in a colder place now. It's over 100F and I'm sweating!
ha, that's great.
looove your boots, they're great!

Sweet bowl!
I love your outfit. I love the boots from H&M too... I actually went to the one in Atlantic station..hoping to get it...but sadly, they only have a lonely pair in a size 10 whereas I'm a 7 :(
Trish,
I can totally relate when it comes to the weather (unfortunately). I absolutely LOVE cold weather, but we don't get much of that here where I live. When it does snow (which happens maybe once a year), it only snows less than half an inch, yet the entire town shuts down. It's crazy annoying.
I looove gumbo too! My mouth is watering just thinking about it :).
